Eagles for Dan

10 years ago, we filed out of McNeice Pavilion as BC High graduates. We posed for pictures (like the one above), talked about the rousing commencement speech by Dennis Lehane (now a Cullinane supporter), and silently wondered how we were going to live up to this whole "men for others" thing.

While many of us have gone on to honor the tradition and expectations set for us by the Jesuits at 150 Morrissey Blvd., we would be hard-pressed to find a better example than Dan Cullinane.

Dan left his beloved Dorchester in 2003 to attend college -- the first in his family to do so -- as a waitlist addition and graduated 4 years later as the class president.

Since then, he has pursued a life centered in public service -- working in City Hall, the State House, and the Attorney General's Office in addition to serving as the Vice President of the Cedar Grove Civic Association (an organization he began working with as a teenager at BC High) and supporting Boston youth at the Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) -- and is now embarking on his first bid for public office as a State Representative in the 12th Suffolk District.

That's where you come in.

If Dan is to continue his path as a "man for others" -- he needs your help.

Political campaigns are expensive at every level, and he can't do it without us. We urge you to give what you can - whether $100, $50, or even $10, every dollar will make a difference, allowing him to inch ever closer to our goal.

In addition to your financial support, your time is also valuable. If you would like to volunteer to make phone calls, or help in another way, click here.

Please pass along to others in the BC High family and encourage them to follow your lead.

Sincerely,

Tim Smith, Brendan Downes, Mike Sheehan, Ricky Anderson, and Zeke Hughes
